Meet Dr. B

Dr. Frederick Brown M.D. Sports Medicine and Family Physician.

Dr. Frederick Brown M.D. Sports Medicine and Family Physician.

Dr. Brown achieved board certification in both family practice and sports medicine.  He is a member of the American Academy of Private Physicians, for which he serves as a delegate for the state of Texas.

Dr. Brown completed his medical school training at University of Nevada School of Medicine in 1999, and went on to post graduate training at St. Josephs family practice residency program in Houston, Texas from 1999-2002.  In 2003, he completed additional training in sports medicine, earning a fellowship.

It was on to private practice in Sugar Land Texas where he remained until early 2011. He then moved just 3 miles down the road to Missouri City, Texas, where he is currently practicing.  Dr. B. has taken care of many local sports teams, including University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Houston Baptist University, The Houston Comets, and numerous area high schools. He also continues to work with dozens of professional ball players as well as olympic athletes.

On a daily basis, Dr. Brown provides a highly personalized level of care, focusing on health, wellness, and prevention - irregardless of age or medical conditions. The important part is that the medical care provided is a partnership, optimizing the original intent of the doctor-patient relationship.

While sub-specializing in sports medicine, and having a niche in functional/nutritional medicine, Dr. Brown has never considered practicing any in any other sector of medicine than family practice. To Dr. Brown, it has never made sense to treat something in the leg if its root cause is in the back; to address a sports injury without considering the psychological impact; or to neglect considering nutritional deficiencies for something like headaches. While highly specialized areas of expertise are necessary and very much a part of what has given the US the best health care system in the world, an ability to treat the masses has always been Dr. Browns focus. Being able to treat most things in most people, implemented with targeted referrals, has worked out very well. This of course requires a good sense of limitations, mixed with a tremendous breadth of knowledge and ability to make people and keep people well.
